Highlands Primary School’s carnival celebrates Commonwealth history

29 Jun
On Wednesday 25th June I had the privilege of attending Highlands Primary School’s Carnival in Wanstead Park.
The Carnival was organised by Highlands’ staff and pupils, and was attended by parents, neighbours, governors as well as other supporters of the school.
The theme of the event was based around the Commonwealth. Pupils entered the field dressed in their colourful costumes and flags representing a different Commonwealth nation, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere.
Mr. Kulvarn Atwal (Head Teacher) and other staff members did a fantastic job of presenting Commonwealth history and entertaining all with their acting. Highlands’ certainly has a flair for creativity!
It was heartening to see many parents come and support the Carnival. Such events really do allow us all to come together and celebrate our common heritage and values.
I look forward to attending more great events hosted by Highlands Primary School in the near future.
