Ilford Recorder letter (30th July 2015): Bright future for students

Cllr Varinder Singh Bola, Labour Member for Cranbrook Ward, writes:

It has been little over a fortnight since I held a function in Valentines Mansion emphasising the need for us all to recognise the talent in our communities and celebrate success stories.

What a pleasant surprise it was for me to then be invited to join parents and other guests to hand out awards at the inaugural awards ceremony at Karamsar Punjabi School in Buckingham Road.

The school has 200 students of varying ages, who are taught the Punjabi language right up to GCSE and A-level. The students are also provided with the opportunity to master classical Indian instruments and earn a recognised qualification, improve fitness through martial arts training (kung-fu), and engage in a range of other extra curricular activities that build character.
